According to a the Korea Development Institute, as quoted by Yonhap News, North Korea is facing its worst crisis since 1994. It says that the North doesn’t have enough food to feed its people and that its economy is expected to contract in the second part of this year.
But hasn’t that been the case for some while?

True, but as you know there isn’t a sympathetic government in Seoul who is willing to send unconditional aid to the north. Combine that with the sudden mortality issues of the demi-god in power and you have some antsy little Norks. Should be interesting over the next few months to years.
